Biography
Heather Bussing has over 20 years experience as a civil litigator and advisor. One of her primary areas of practice is employment law, including traditional labor law, wage, hour and leaves of absence, wrongful termination, reductions in force, and best practices for hiring and retaining employees. Her approach to employment law is to prevent problems through early intervention and the creation and implementation of good policies and agreements.
Ms. Bussing also has extensive experience in real estate law including real estate transactions, construction litigation, water intrusion, and boundary disputes. She has worked with business law issues including bank and insurer insolvency such as the multi-billion dollar conservation and sales of Executive Life Insurance Company and Fidelity Bankers Life Insurance Company. She also regularly handles the purchase and sale of businesses and business entity formation.
Her latest interest has been in intellectual property including licensing agreements, intellectual property protections and entertainment law.
Ms. Bussing is also an experienced appellate attorney and legal writer. She currently teaches law school in the areas of legal research and writing and advanced legal writing.
